The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corp (TSE) will invite 18 blue-chip
companies to give a series of business presentations starting
on Friday, TSE president Su Song-chin (蘇松欽) said yesterday.
"We have selected six sectors
to participate in the event, including TFT-LCD, LED, handset
communications, solar energy, steel and traditional industries,"
he said.
The companies participating on
Friday include AU Optronics Corp (友達光電), Amtran Technology
Co (瑞軒科技) and Novatek Microelectronics Corp (聯詠科技)in the panelmaking
sector.
That will be followed by Everlight
Electronics Co (億光電子), Epistar Corp (晶電) and New Century InfoCom
Co Ltd (新世紀資通) on LED manufacturing on Dec. 31, as well as
D-Link Corp (友訊科技), Merry Electronics Co (美律實業) and High Tech
Computer Corp (宏達電) for the handset communications field on
Jan. 2.
The Jan. 4 meeting will feature
Gintech Energy Corp (昱晶能源), Green Energy Technology Inc (綠能科技)
and Formosa Sumco Technology Corp (台勝科) from the solar cellmaking
sector, while the Jan. 7 presentation will feature China Steel
Corp (中鋼), Ta Chen Stainless Pipe Co (大成不鏽鋼) and Sheng Yu
Steel Co (盛餘鋼鐵).
Taking the podium on Jan. 9 will
be Uni-President Group (統一集團), Globe Union Industrial Corp
(成霖企業) and another firm that has not been confirmed, according
